No flowers please. We will be collecting for a charity, but not yet knowing why she died, we haven't decided which one.

All family and friends are welcome to join us, but please wear something bright. A brightly coloured tie would certainly be suitable.

Funeral

Lucy's funeral will be held at 2pm on Wednesday 28th October 2015 at Eltham Crematorium, Crown Woods Way, SE9 2AZ.

Please note that some satnav systems do not correctly recognise the crematorium's postcode. The entrance to the crematorium is on Crown Woods Way, not the A2 Rochester Way. If your satnav has difficulties, please use the alternative postcode SE9 2NL.

Route from the M25 (anti-clockwise)

  • Turn off at junction 3 (A20) towards Lewisham / Blackwall Tunnel
  • Approximately 7 miles from the M25, turn sharp right at the first set of traffic lights into Southwood Road (signed for New Eltham)
  • Continue straight on into Avery Hill Road (passing the University of Greenwich on the left)
  • Cross over Bexley Road (A210) into Crown Woods Way
  • Turn left into the crematorium at the top of Crown Woods Way
The average time from junction 3 of the M25 is 20 minutes

This is the best route for those travelling from Wales.

Route from M25 (clockwise)

  • Turn off at junction 2 (A2) towards the Blackwall Tunnel
  • Turn off the A2 at Danson Interchange (A221).
  • At the second roundabout take the Blackfen Road (A210) towards Eltham
  • At the junction of Bexley Road (A210) and Avery Hill Road (B2214), turn right onto Crown Woods Way
  • Turn left into the crematorium at the top of Crown Woods Way<
The average time from junction 2 of the M25 is 20 minutes, but delays can occur in the Blackfen area and increase the journey time by 10 minutes

If you have crossed over the Dartford bridge, please note that there are no longer any toll booths, but you will have to pay the toll online. (You'll have to pay it again if you head northwards through the tunnel, too!)

Thanksgiving service

The funeral will be followed by a thanksgiving service at the Church that Lucy attended, St. John's, Church Road, Sidcup, DA14 6BX at 3pm.

Route from the crematorium to St. John's

See the map below, which you should be able to drag and zoom.

To drop off at the Church

  • Turn right into Church Road.
  • The Church is on the left by the junction with Church Avenue, just before the width restriction.

There is very limited parking at the Church, so you may be better following the instructions on the right.

To Park

  • Go straight on, and bear slightly right at the next mini-roundabout.
  • Turn right into Church Avenue (by the doctor's surgery)
  • When the road bends sharply to the right, there is a driveway straight on, that driveway is for the recreation club hosting the wake, where they have kindly allowed parking.
  • To get to the church from the club, walk out of the driveway, turn left and walk through the barriers blocking cars. The church is on the right on the corner with Church Road.

Walking time is approximately 1 minute.

Wake

We will be holding a wake for Lucy where there is a buffet and bar as well as tea, coffee and soft drinks. This will be held at Sidcup Recreation Club (Sidcup's best-kept secret?) just a minute's walk from the church. Church Avenue, Sidcup, DA14 6BU.

There is a car park at the clubhouse, and they have kindly given permission for people attending the service at St. John's to park there.
